Fernando Yáñez de la Almedina
Fernando Yáñez de la Almedina (born around 1475, documented until 1537) was a Spanish Renaissance painter from Almedina, in the Castile-La Mancha region. He was strongly influenced by Italian painting, particularly Leonardo da Vinci, with whom he may have collaborated in Florence. After returning to Spain, he worked alongside Fernando de los Llanos on the main altarpiece of Valencia Cathedral. He was one of the leading figures responsible for introducing the techniques and models of the Italian High Renaissance into Spanish painting, distinguished by his use of sfumato, delicate figures, and attention to detail.
