Andrea di Bartolo

1 ARTWORK

Andrea di Bartolo (c. 1360–1428) was an Italian painter and manuscript illuminator born in Siena, where he began his artistic training in the workshop of his father, Bartolo di Fredi. He became an important representative of Sienese Gothic painting, producing altarpieces, frescoes, and religious manuscript illuminations. He worked in several Italian cities, including Siena, Treviso, and Venice. His style, initially close to that of his father, later incorporated influences from Taddeo di Bartolo, distinguished by vivid colors, narrative compositions, and expressive figures.
